This business is looking for a versatile and client-focused Engineer to join a growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical foundations who’s ready to take ownership of client environments and grow into a relationship-driven position. You’ll provide end-to-end support from 1st to 3rd line across on-premise and cloud-based infrastructures, while developing trusted partnerships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on support across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line issues for client environments.
- Manage and maintain hybrid infrastructure (on-premise servers, Azure, Microsoft 365).
- Maintain and support identity and access management platforms, including Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.
- Provide technical support via helpdesk, remote tools, and on-site visits.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and proactively improve their IT environments.
- Escalate and resolve complex issues, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Maintain accurate records of time, billing, and ticketing using ITSM tools.
- Support and contribute to ITIL-aligned service delivery processes.
- Assist in onboarding new clients and projects, including documentation and setup.
- Ensure compliance with information security best practices and policies.
- You will be required to participate in an on-call rota, providing support outside of standard working hours as scheduled.
Skills & Experience Required
- 5+ years of experience in IT support or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity setups.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and ITSM tooling.
- Understanding information security principles and data protection.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware, software, and networks.
- Strong communication skills and a client-first mindset.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
- You must hold a full driving license.
Desirable
- Experience working in a managed service provider (MSP) or consultancy environment.
- Exposure to cloud migration projects or hybrid cloud architecture.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: M365 Administrator, ITIL Foundation, or similar.
